Rules for Dogs at Mt Lyford & DOG PASS: $20 per dog per day
As one of New Zealand’s only ski area’s that is dog friendly, we welcome your dog to visit the snow with you.
There is a dog pass that is required and rules to follow.
A DOG PASS can be purchased at the ticket office.
Dog and owner information form with be required to be filled out.
The owner responsible for the dog will wear the DOG PASS on a clothing zip like a day pass. Ski area staff will check on occasion that dogs have a pass and that their owners have them under control.

Pet owners are responsible for their animals at all times. Take responsibility for your dogs' behaviour at all times. Make sure your dog is properly socialized and non-aggressive toward strangers and the dogs they're playing with.

No dogs in the day lodge, expect the ski area dogs, Mack, Lexi, and Tig.

Pick up after your dog. If your dog does its business, Number 2’s, be prepared to scoop, bag, and dispose of its waste properly. Leaving mess isn't just unsightly, it's unsanitary. It also makes our snow look dirty.

If any dog is unsupervised, acting aggressively please report it to the ticket office.

Make sure your dog is vaccinated. All dogs visiting Mt Lyford must be up to date on vaccinations.

Dogs in heat should be left home or in the vehicle. Do not bring a female dog in heat to Mt Lyford; her presence can create fights and distractions for the other dogs.

Leave your food/picnic lunch inside your car. Other dogs may not have good manners around people enjoying a free meal,

Control your dog around others, families, little kids. Infants and toddlers.

keep your dog's leash with you at all times. You may need to quickly remove your dog or restraint it.

Always have a collar on your dog.

Mt Lyford Ski Area reserves the right to not all allow a dog on the mountain at any time and request the dog be put back the a vehicle at any time.
